The 8HD800NCFD-4 is the latest addition to DS18’s line of hybrid loudspeakers with built-in compression horn driver. This high-powered hybrid pro audio speaker combines the extreme volume of our 8" mid-ranges with a high-wattage compression driver, delivering a full range of frequencies with absolute precision.
With a nominal diameter of 8" (203mm) and a combined nominal impedance of 4 Ohms for the woofer and 8 Ohms for the driver, these speakers provide optimal performance in any audio setup. The combined RMS power handling of 400W and MAX power handling of 800W deliver mind-blowing volume, while the sensitivity of 105dB (1w/1m) ensures every nuance is heard with stunning clarity. I have the ds18 hooligan 12" 2+2 in a 2013 Camaro SS convertible, powered by a deaf bonce pro 5500 watt amp. I turned the spare tire well into a ported enclosure tuned to 30 hertz, and I have to say this subwoofer bangs with the best of them , it's on par with other subs that cost $1200 and up. I'm still breaking it in and it has the whole car shaking hard and I mean hard ! When tuned correctly for your application the sound quality is as good if not better than other competitors. I have been in car audio for over 30 years doing custom installs, and believe me when I say THIS SUBWOOFER IS NO JOKE! And also make sure your electrical is up to par, because it is power hungry! One of the best competition/ street scene subwoofers for the money period!
I’m using this EQ as a Line converter/ Line driver and it works flawlessly the clip indicator on each band & both volume knobs is what convinced me to get this item and it didn’t disappoint.
