TWO YEARS IN A ROW BABY ! #TEAMDS18 made an EPIC return to Houston with systems screaming for Sling Experience 2025—the ultimate battleground for custom Slingshot builders, drivers, and enthusiasts. Sling Experience drew in the best of the best from across the nation—and DS18 unleashed a full-blown takeover!
Engineering the Loudest Slingshot in the Nation
Standard audio rules collapse when tackling a vehicle without a roof or doors. DS18 confronted this challenge directly with the high-powered Slingshots we brought to Houston this year.
The challenge: pushing sound limits in open-air builds
Slingshots create hurdles that ordinary systems don’t usually face. You’re not working in a cozy sedan with insulation and cabin acoustics on your side. In open-air machines like these, sound waves escape instantly, road and wind noise dominate, and traditional audio gear barely stands a chance. Systems might sound fantastic in showroom conditions, but that same setup becomes practically useless on highways at 60 mph.
The solution: DS18’s SLGV2 Series
That’s why we said screw the mold—and re-engineered the SLG Series from the ground up, to create the SLGV2 Series.
Want immersive, directional power? Use the SLG-HD6LDV2 Headrest Pods loaded with dual NXL-IQ6/BKs per side—Digitally-lit and in prime position for power!
Like it LOUD—DS18's storage-loaded 10" sub enclosure the SLG-RSUB10LD offers deep-end punch without eating up cabin space—it’s loud, sturdy, and road-ready.
This is how champions are built—real Slingshot builders, drivers, and champions showed up to Houston repping #TEAMDS18 and the SLGV2 Series, front to back. If you’re asking yourself “How do I get louder?”—it’s time to stop guessing. Start building with the series designed to dominate: DS18 SLGV2.
Why The Joker was built to break boundaries
What happens when you ask: how LOUD can a Slingshot really get?
We found out at Sling Experience—where #TheJoker made its grand return, reimagined, repainted, and totally rebuilt for one purpose: to break every boundary in the game.
Crafted by #TEAMDS18’s Marino Vargas—who cut his teeth in the marine industry before going full throttle on three wheels—The Joker wasn’t a weekend project. It was years of fiberglass mastery turned into an all-out audio assault. Piece by piece, this Slingshot was shaped to become a rolling festival. A fully custom roof enclosure. Side and rear pods. Dual enclosures. All positioned to throw sound in every direction and trap the listener in a forcefield of boom.
Now wrapped in full Joker livery—mural and all—this is how SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONS are built.

How DS18 Components Transformed The Joker
At the heart of The Joker lies a brutal stack of LOUD components:
· 8XL800N-4: Neodymium midrange monsters, delivering 400W RMS each with ultra-high 100.7 dB sensitivity—built to slice through the chaos of the road.
· PRO-TWX1: 3.8" super bullet tweeters with aluminum voice coils and piercing 103 dB sensitivity—perfect for cutting through open-air noise.
· PRO-DKH1S: Compression drivers, paired with short aluminum horns, firing directional highs across every angle.
· EXL-X12.2D: Subwoofers pushing up to 2500W max, tuned low and ready to slam with precision from the side enclosures.
Every component was chosen for power, projection, and full-throttle frequencies!

Proving Grounds
The bass punches you in your chest before you hear it. At Sling Experience, sound shakes pavement and stops crowds cold. This is the proving ground for Slingshot audio—and #TEAMDS18 let the speakers do the talking.
Slinguana Pulled Up Geared for Action
Straight out of Miami, Slinguana roared into this year’s show LOADED like never before. With neon green bodywork, branded decals, custom wheels, racing-style seats, and molded pods housing a wall of mids and tweeters—she came to take over. DS18 firepower made the difference:
· PRO-TWX2: Bullet tweeters (103.5 dB sensitivity) hit sharp highs with 240W peak power
· 12XL1500MB-8: mid-bass monsters added thunder with 1500W of punch and 98.5 dB sensitivity

Meet Snow – Where Ice Meets Fire
Then came Snow. A frosted-out beast drenched in 360° RGB LED glow and layered in DS18 muscle. At its core? The SLG-WFCC66 Waterfall Console Pod, loaded with:
- NXL-6: Marine Coaxials delivering full-range sound with RGB flair
- PRO-DKH1: Drivers engineered for searing, high-decibel clarity
The custom enclosures in this Polaris Slingshot are packed with DS18 firepower, featuring a fusion of PRO-TWX2 super tweeters and 12XL1500MB-8 mid-bass monsters. Together, these components create a soundstage that roars, turning every ride into a concert-grade, chest-thumping experience.
And it delivered: Snow walked away as Heavyweight Champion of the event, proving it could go toe-to-toe with any system out there—and win.

How Sling Experience Fuels the DS18 Evolution
What started as basic factory sound—Polaris offering 100W, now 200W in 2024—has been completely rewritten by DS18.
At this year’s Sling Experience, The Joker did it again—storming the competition to claim the title of Super Heavyweight Champion. It wasn’t luck. It was a vision from #TEAMDS18’s Marino, Lachy, and Luis that finally reached peak form.
Congratulations to the entire crew.
What's Next for DS18?
From the heart of Miami to the podium in Houston—#TEAMDS18 just rewrote the rulebook. The Joker claimed the crown as the Super Heavyweight Champ, Slinguana and Snow crushed the field, and the SLGV2 Series proved it’s the gold standard for open-air domination.
Two years. Two Wins. And we’re only getting LOUDER.
