Jeeps and Slingshots were on full display at this year’s King of the Bayou show in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Team DS18 was there with Amplified Designs to show off tricked out Jeeps and unmatched audio gear. While plenty of Jeeps showed up, Slingshots made a huge impression, too.

Both Jeeps and Slingshots had something to show with unique looks and themes. Meanwhile, sound competitions kept the music pumping all through the show, with different competitions bringing quality sound.

Team DS18 ended up winning in the Extreme Jeep competition with the Military Green Gladiator Jeep. It featured 10XL1400 mid-range loudspeakers to provide plenty of loud sound. Adding to the volume were HOOLIGAN X15.2DHE high excursion subwoofers, making sure this Gladiator stayed on top of the competition.

This Military Green Gladiator made sure all sides were covered by having speakers in the back and on the doors. On the inside, a soundbar was surrounded by patches on the top, while real deal HOOLIGAN subs kept things extra loud below. While a wall of speakers took over the cargo, the entire backseat was dedicated to these subs. Along with additional patches and other unique features, it's a Jeep truly committed to the build.

The Jeep that ended up winning the coveted title of King of the Bayou was from Steve Pellegrin. Inspired by suicide prevention and sporting the 988 Lifeline phone number, this black Jeep makes its message loud, clear, and unmissable.

There was no shortage of Slingshots that had DS18 backing them up. While Slingshots can easily fit aftermarket speakers, a lot of these rides went the extra mile. Not satisfied with putting speakers in the rear or under the dashboard, plenty of these Slingshots had speakers on the outside of the driver’s seat. Most notably were speakers near the front, which could sometimes be subtle or prominent.

The most impressive Slingshot we saw at the show was Pennywise from House of Sound, a fully decked out ride with a theme worthy of the iconic IT villain. In addition to the clown theme, this Slingshot had speakers all over, from the front to the back and all along the sides.

The most prominent audio gear were sixteen 10XL1400 mid-range loudspeakers: two in the front, two in the back, and four on each side. Complementing the speakers were a few PRO-TW850CN high compression tweeters. If that wasn’t enough, these speakers were decked out with LED lights, made this Slingshot stand out even more.

Thank you so much to everyone who showed up and made this show LOUD.
